Aberdeen Fire says working smoke alarms were able to alert an Aberdeen family of a house fire Sunday. Grays Harbor Scanner reports the call came in about 10:30am Sunday on Young Street in Aberdeen. Firefighters say a mom and two kids were evacuated and fire personnel were able to rescue two guinea pigs from the home. No word of a cause but officials say you should have your wood burning stove or fireplace cleaned and inspected annually.
