The Aberdeen Police Department said this week that Zero, the department’s K9 has received his custom bullet and stab proof vest. The protective vest was donated courtesy of Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. The nonprofit works to outfit law enforcement K9 units with protective vests at no cost to the department. Each vest costs as much as $2,200, is custom made for the dog that will wear it and comes with a 5 year warranty.
