The American Red Cross is helping a family after a fire swept through their house in Hoquiam Tuesday morning. The call came in just before 7:30 yesterday morning about the blaze at a home on 5th street. Hoquiam fire and police responded as did members of the Aberdeen fire dand officials department. Everyone made it out of the home by the time first responders arrived. Officials say the fire was particularly dangerous because a propane tank on the property was also venting. It took crews about 20 minutes to put out the flames. The cause is still being investigated although initial findings suggested it may have started in an extension cord that was running from the house to an RV parked in the yard.
