WSDOT says they will totally close the State route 109 Grass Creek Bridge between Ocean Shores and Hoquiam for 10 weeks while repairs are made. Following major deterioration that was found during an inspection, the bridge has been reduced to one lane of alternating traffic since May. Crews will be replacing the support beams and putting in new pilings during the closure. There will be a signed detour that officials say will add an extra 5 minutes to your drive. Once the bridge re-opens the weight capacity will return and the 50-mph speed limit will be back. The bridge closure is scheduled to start December 1st.
