Pacific County has been awarded over $100,000 in federal dollars to help prevent wildfires. It’s part of the Community Wildlife Defense Grant which awarded $25 million dollars for 14 projects in Washington state to help develop wildfire prevention plans in the most wildfire prone areas of the state. The $103,000 given to Pacific County was the full amount requested and is part of a process that began 4 years ago to try and lessen the chances of wildfires in the county.
