Improperly installed water heaters caused an Aberdeen apartment building to be evacuated earlier this week. Just before midnight Sunday Aberdeen Fire was called out to the building on East 4th when a resident’s carbon monoxide alarm sounded. Fire crews determined there to be a dangerously high amount of carbon monoxide in the building and evacuated 13 residents. The gas lines were cut off and the building was aired out before residents were allowed to return to their apartment.
