A wildfire in Taholah that started earlier this week now has a level 2 evacuation order in place. Grays Harbor Scanner first reported the wildfire off State Route 109 near milepost 34 on Wednesday afternoon. The Level 1 evacuation that was put into place for Moclips Estates on Wednesday was upgraded to a level 2 evacuation which warns residents to be ready to evacuate at a moment’s notice. According to reports, helicopters brought in water drops as early as Wednesday. What started as a 1-to-2-acre fire, quickly spread to at least 20 acres. No word on what ignited the blaze.
