A verdict could come as early as today in the murder trial of the man accused in the shooting death of Steven Button last year at the Ace of Clubs Tavern in Hoquiam. During closing arguments on Friday, prosecutors called the defendant Michael Moore, the instigator and aggressor in the confirmation between him and Button. Moore’s attorney said his client was acting in self-defense and the shooting was justified. The jury, which started deliberating yesterday, will reconvene this morning.
