Active January weather is moving back into the region through Friday, bringing widespread rain, gusty winds, and hazardous coastal conditions.

Active January weather is moving back into the region through Friday, bringing widespread rain, gusty winds, and hazardous coastal conditions. The National Weather Service Seattle says the strongest winds will hit the coast, with the heaviest rain falling over the Olympic Peninsula. A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect tonight through Thursday evening due to dangerous sneaker waves that can rush far up the beach with little warning. Officials urge people to stay back from the water, avoid rocks and jetties, and keep a close eye on children as conditions change quickly.
