The Aberdeen School Board has selected Mardi Emard Colburn to fill the vacant position 3 seat left by Jessica Jurasin’s resignation last month. A graduate of Aberdeen High School and Grays Harbor College, Emard-Colburn holds multiple degrees and has worked as an academic advisor while staying active in local schools and music programs. The Daily World board she is passionate about education and committed to being a “servant leader” for the community. She’ll be sworn in at the board’s next regular meeting on September 2, with the seat up for election in 2027.
