Drivers traveling from Hoquiam to Aberdeen should prepare for a two-day closure of the U.S. 101 Simpson Avenue Bridge. WSDOT will close the bridge at 9 Tuesday morning and reroute traffic onto the Riverside Bridge, which will temporarily carry vehicles in both directions. Expect congestion and give yourself extra time until the bridge reopens at 9 Thursday morning. Crews are replacing an aging wooden support with steel and repairing the driving surface. The nearly century-old bridge is currently rated in poor condition.
