More than two dozen volunteers helped to plant over a thousand trees along the Wishkah River this week. The event on MLK Day Monday was organized by the Grays Harbor Conservation District and saw more than 25 volunteers planting Sitka willows near Kurt Cobain Memorial Park. The effort was made possible by property owners signing up to have the trees planted to help reinforce the riverbank. Any riverbank property owner can sign up for the same service free of charge by contacting the Grays Harbor conservation district.
