The unstepping of the Lady Washington Mast goes as planned earlier this month as restoration work gets underway. The Daily World reports that between the project team and coast guard inspections, there has been another $300,000 added for critical projects. Phase one of the restoration includes all new rigging, replacing aging wood, replacing the masts and installing safety upgrades. A new generator will also be purchased and there will be various engineering and electrical work done as well.
