McCleary continues leaning on neighboring law enforcement agencies to keep police coverage in place. The Daily World Officer says Randy Bunch is no longer serving as acting chief. The city says the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office is helping cover shifts, while Elma Police Chief Tracy Gay handles administrative duties. That outside coverage comes at a cost. McCleary received a bill for nearly 14-thousand dollars in sheriff’s deputy overtime from just the first half of August. Police Chief Ryan Miskell remains on paid administrative leave.
