With the Bear Gulch Fire burning through more than 3,000 acres and containment stuck at just 3 percent, Montesano firefighters are joining the front lines.

With the Bear Gulch Fire burning through more than 3,000 acres and containment stuck at just 3 percent, Montesano firefighters are joining the front lines. Brush 91, staffed by Michael Neal and Gabe Bodwell, is now deployed alongside Cosmopolis Firefighter Phil Simms to help protect nearby communities. The crew’s deployment underscores the region’s coordinated wildfire response and hard-earned experience. Officials urge residents to follow burn bans and keep the team in their thoughts for a safe return.
