With ballots going out next week, campaign fundraising is picking up in Pacific County's local races. Campaign finance reports show sheriff's candidate Rich Byrd leading the field with more than $16,000 raised, while incumbent Sheriff Daniel Garcia has brought in nearly $11,000. The race for county prosecutor has also attracted thousands of dollars in campaign donations, but the other two sheriff candidates have reported no fundraising. Ballots for the August 4 primary will be mailed to voters next week.
