Officials are reminding you there’s more to pay attention to than the air temperature.

With parts of Grays Harbor and Pacific counties under an excessive heat watch this Mother’s Day Weekend, officials are reminding you there’s more to pay attention to than the air temperature. Authorities are reminding everyone that Even though weekend temperatures are projected to be in the mid to high 80's, local rivers are still rather cold and water flow is faster than normal. If you do visit one of the local waterways, keep in mind that cold water can cause your body to go into shock which could increase your chances of drowning.
