Grays Harbor Fire District # 2 will hold a town hall meeting in October to discuss the Levy Lid Lift that will be on the November 7th ballot. The last voter approved measure in 2020 gave the fire district a rate of $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed property value. As property values increase, the rate the fire district collects falls, and even with an annual 1 percent increase, district 2 officials say it’s not enough to keep up with current expenses. If approved, the Levy lid Lift would revert the rate back to $1.50 next year and for only next year before the rate started to fall again. More details will be coming soon about the October 12 Town Hall meeting.
